10 Books with Blue (the best colour) Covers 📘

My favourite colour is blue 💙 You might have already guessed that from both the title of this post and the amount of blue on my blog. There’s a lot of blue clicky things, some blue text here and there, and my bullet points are little blue stars. Because it’s the best colour.

Because blue is my favourite, my eyes naturally get drawn to blue book covers. Tip for authors: want me to buy your book and read it? Make it blue. Works like a charm.

And so, here are some of my favourite blue covers, some of which I have read and some of which I haven’t. Because it’s like that sometimes.

Deep Blue by Jennifer Donnelly – Even though I still haven’t read this book yet, it’s a favourite of mine to just own and have on my shelf because there is so much blue going on here. Blue is in the title. It’s also on the front and back covers. Then you open the book, and the text is also blue. If that’s not cool, I don’t know what is.

Allegiant by Veronica Roth – I don’t know if anyone else prefers these editions of the Divergent trilogy, but I like my books in a series to be similar but easy enough to tell apart. The fact that the trilogy has different colours makes it easier for me.

Starglass by Phoebe North – I know that there are greens and purples on this cover, but it’s mostly blue so I immediately love it 😍

Adaptation by Malinda Lo – No, this cover is not green. At least to me, it isn’t.

This is Not a Test by Courtney Summers – There are so many things about this colour I love: 1) it’s blue 2) it’s got a real person on it, but their face is completely obscured 3) there are little splatters of blood. What’s not to love?

Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo  When I searched for this cover, the original one is apparently grey, but I have the blue version and think it’s so much better because water and ships play a big part in the story, and obviously water is blue.

These Broken Stars by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner – Behold, the most beautiful cover to ever exist 😍 The rest of the covers in the series are just as beautiful, but obviously, this one is my favourite because it’s blue.

Goliath by Scott Westerfeld – Ahh, my favourite author 💙 I think all of the Leviathan books have great covers, but Goliath is my favourite because it looks like aurora borealis.

Double Down by Gwenda Bond – I have to bring up my mother Lois at least once or I’ll explode. I love that the covers of these books clearly show that Lois is a journalist, with the blocks of text in the white spaces.

The Raven King by Maggie Stiefvater – The cover of this book is just as gorgeous as its insides. That blue stag with all of the magic and birds inside is just 💙

What’s your favourite blue cover? Do you get drawn into covers with your favourite colour on more easily? And most importantly, what’s your favourite colour???

Blue covers are definitely the most striking to me 🙂 I kind of hope the text in the other Waterfire books are blue too or match their covers.

Ohh, you should! It’s been a few years since I read it, but I do still love it 🙂

These all look so fab side by side here. I need to pick myself up a copy of Deep Blue now — I love when the writing is actually in colour.

They really do, it kind of makes me want to rearrange my shelves to be organised by colour, but I’d just end up with a gigantic blue section 😂

Ahh The Raven King definitely wins for my FAVOURITE blue book of all time.😍Followed closely by the UK edition of Strange the Dreamer, which I swear has just got the most gorgeous shade of blue…I want to eat it. (Normal reaction I’m sure??) And These Broken Stars!! Why are galaxy covers SO BEAUTIFUL!?

Ohh, I didn’t even realise Deep Blue was a girl in a dress cover! I thought it was part of the mermaid tail 😂

Blue really does work well, maybe that’s why there are so many blue covers 😂

I keep forgetting about those Divergent covers because I never see them! I’ve always loved the cover for Deep Blue as well. Although my favourite colour is green, I actually get really drawn in my covers that are done in purple and/or black, and rarely pick up something with a super bright colour unless I have heard good things about it (one exception being The Perks of Being a Wallflower, which I own in all its fluorescent green brilliance).

I get drawn into purple and black colours too – purple because I rarely see it on book covers for some reason, and black because it kind of hints to me that it’ll be a dark story. And I’m the same with really bright covers, if I haven’t been recommended it, I probably wouldn’t have looked at it in the first place.

Blue is definitely such a beautiful color for covers! I haven’t read it yet, but I especially love the coverfor Deep Blue!

These Broken Stars is one of my favorite book covers, too! So gorgeous and probably the reason I picked up that book! I’ve never seen that cover of Goliath! So cool!

I’m pretty sure the cover is the reason I picked up These Broken Stars (it is a genre that i like anyway, but the cover really sealed the deal), but I have no shame in that because it’s so gorgeous 😍

I think I’ve seen a couple of mermaid art pieces on Twitter, but I give it a look! 🙂

  9. Blue is also my favourite colour *cheers* It always has been. There’s just something about it that’s so lovely? I really like all different shades of blue, too. Not just the one type.

The covers for The Raven King and These Broken Stars are divine. I absolutely adore them. Especially These Broken Stars – I take a lot of photos of that book, and the others in that trilogy because they are just so pretty. The colours pop and I just *heart eyes*

I’m not sure if I’m particularly drawn to colours on book covers. I think I’m more drawn to the general pleasantness of the aesthetic. I was instantly drawn to the cover of These Broken Stars because it had a beautiful dress, it was a dramatic and romantic pose, and also space??? Bonus for it being blue. Though I have to say my favourite cover of all time is probably the cover of Fallen, which also happens to be blue, haha. But everything about that cover is beautiful and I still love it, all these years later!

Yay for blue! My favourite colour was purple once upon a time (because i still believed in gender roles and all that crap), but now I’ve realised that blue is such a beautiful colour in all shades 🙂

All of the Starbound books are photo-worthy because they’re just so beautiful 😍 They’re even more gorgeous once I run photos of them through VSCO and everything becomes enhanced 😍
